Ben Childs has been professionally playing music for his entire adult life. He learned saxophone, guitar and piano from a young age and has been adding more instruments and other skills along the way including such instruments as the hurdy gurdy and accordion. He achieved a Bachelor's degree in Music from Manchester University in the UK and Ben used this time to establish himself in the Manchester music scene and meet other musicians.

During this time the band that stands out most is Sonic Boom Six. Sonic Boom Six is a Ska/Punk/Grime outfit from Manchester. Ben was a founding member and played with them for a decade. With Sonic Boom Six he toured the world, recorded 4 albums, and played prestigious festivals such as Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Ben moved to the USA in Early 2010 and has been living in Florida ever since. He is actively involved in the music scene here. He plays in 4 bands: Killbillies, Nina's Yard Party, The Algorhythms and BFD. The band that is dearest to his heart is Killbillies. Killbillies are a Trad/Folk/Punk band and have been a fixture of the South Florida Music landscape for over a decade. They have a loyal following, have toured both nationally and internationally and can count SunFest in West Palm Beach among the shows they have played.

Ben has recorded the music for his own projects for many years and does instrumental session work for people but in recent times he has turned toward recording other artists as well. He produces and records bands from his studio at home and also at "Live Music Community" in Palm Beach Gardens. This side of his career is growing all the time and he is always looking for fun projects to be a part of.

Lately Ben has been making music videos for his newest project Nina’s Yard party. He has an eclectic and experimental approach and a diverse portfolio of work at this point from green screen, multi layered pieces to animated cartoons. These videos can be seen on his website or on the 561 music podcast YouTube channel.

A big part of Ben's life right now is the 561 Music Podcast. He co-produces and co-presents the show which has both an audio and a video component. It can be found on YouTube and is streaming now wherever podcasts are streamed. The 561 Music Podcast is Ben and Hector Diaz’s attempt to help grow the South Florida Music Scene and watch it thrive. Ben, Hector and the team also organize shows and even a very well attended annual festival in Lake Worth.

Ben teaches both privately and at "Live Music Community" in Palm Beach Gardens. He teaches instrumental lessons but also songwriting, recording, industry advice, and coaching for bands.

Ben is very active on social media and can be found on all relevant platforms
